Background
PolarLake required a complete re-design of their website that would better reflect their corporate identity and product offering. PolarLake wanted a site that would grow with the company, offering flexibility in terms of both design and content. They plan to use the new site to support their increasing sales force and as a means of promotion and information as the marketing team bolsters their online marketing activities. They also looked for the chosen solution provider to be responsible for updates to the site, and to assist with online marketing activities.
The Solution
Green Island Interactive spent time with the PolarLake marketing team to understand not only the immediate goals for the site, but also their long term requirements. It was crucial to determine how the marketing team would use the site and how their existing and future customers would avail of the site as a source of information.
After the initial assessment, Green Island presented PolarLake with a plan of action which included:
- The design of a new corporate website with a fresh, modern look & feel and improved user interface and navigation system.
- Development of a site that would showcase their product suite to a business and technical audience, and would provide up-to-date and easy to locate product information.
- Highlighting client case studies, white papers, webinars, analyst reports, articles and more.
- Management of regular updates to content as a top priority.
- Design and management of a weblog for the PolarLake CTO (link available on web site).
- An updated corporate identity including logo and marketing templates.
- Internationalization of the website for use by clients in all markets.
- Banner design to promote special events.
- Management of a quarterly newsletter.
The Result
The new website was launched in November 2003, and has successfully attracted new clients since. The PolarLake marketing team have taken a proactive stance with regards to the site, with regular updates and enhancements being managed by Green Island. Each week, a report on the site's viewing statistics are delivered to the head of marketing, validating the increasing amount of traffic to the site since delivery.
