Green Island Presents Wi-Fi Hotspots & Technology at Country Club Technology Event
Director John Flanagan speaks to packed audience of golf and country club managers at the Westchester Country Club.

(November 10, 2005) John Flanagan, Director, Green Island Interactive spoke to a packed audience of golf and country club managers at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, NY today. The seminar which was hosted by The Network Support Company of Stamford Connecticut focused on the technical issues facing golf and country club managers today.

"Whether it is the major business deal that is made out on the golf course or the beautiful social function that celebrates one of life's magnificent milestones, the Country Club and Hospitality industry is an integral part of our economy. Having things run smoothly is critical to successful business and having the right technology support remains at the core of this success."

John's presentation (titled Managed Wi-Fi Solutions at Golf and Country Clubs) dealt with educating the audience what Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) is, the various standards and terminology they may come across and what they need to look out for when installing a wireless hotspot in their club. During the presentation John mentioned that it is important for country clubs to implement a 'managed' solution when they do decide to install a wireless hotspot. Installing a managed solution ensures club managers and staff don't have to worry about any technical or member issues when using the system. John also covered the costs involved and outlined the many benefits such a solution could bring to both clubs and members.

"The seminar was a great success. Club managers and staff were excited to hear what is happening with Wi-Fi and technology in general. But many managers expressed their frustration at having to deal with an array of technical issues daily. This is not their area of expertise and it can be so frustrating. We discussed how our Island Consulting solution can help. Island Consulting provides golf and country club managers and staff with advice, support and the good humor the need to navigate through the world of technology."
