Green Island Develops New Corporate Intranet e2v technologies

UK based high-technology company selects Green Island to develop intranet for North American division

(November 11, 2005) E2V Technologies, a UK based developer and manufacturer of high-technology electronic components and sub-systems to the medical & science, aerospace & defense, and commercial & industrial sectors, select Green Island Interactive to develop an intranet for their North American division.

E2V employs 1200 staff located in offices in the UK, US, France and Germany. The company has a corporate intranet which provides all staff with important information required to do such highly technical work. The US office wished to build a new area within the existing intranet that would hold information specific to US operations. US employees would still have access to the existing global intranet site via a clear link within the new US intranet site but would also have access to US-specific documentation, handbooks, manuals, templates, news, staff updates and more.

Because a global intranet site already exists and US employees were accustomed to its layout, it was important to keep the new US intranet similar to the existing template. Within this template it was still possible to create a site that had its own unique look so US employees know they are within the US portion of their global intranet.

This would include quick and easy access to NA-specific documentation, procedures and news on a daily basis.
