Green Island Picked to Develop New "Hourbike" Website for Vipre Ltd.
Second Website Developed by Green Island for Sustainable Transportation Firm

(December 15, 2006) Vipre, a world leader in the development and implementation of transportation soft measures, has hired Green Island Interactive to develop a website for their new Hourbike service.

Hourbike is an innovative system where members can rent bicycles from a variety of locations—all managed entirely online. It is unique in that it is fully automated, offers a healthy, green alternative for those people who normally drive. It is ideal for short trips, journeys across town, to and from the train station, inter-campus travel or for pure leisure. It is easy to use and works on the principle of membership. The only thing members need is their SMART card and four-digit PIN for access.

Hourbike provides a range of bikes at a variety of locations that are automatically marked and will be viewable on a map updated in real time on the Hourbike website. Hourbike also incorporates GSM and GPS technology which means there is less information for customers to remember.

"This is the second site we have developed for Vipre and we are delighted they decided to extend their relationship with Green Island on this project. As a company, Green Island strives to have a positive effect on the environment, hence the name Green Island. Working on the Hourbike website is an added bonus as it offers an environmental alternative to transport issues and congestion especially in cities. Something we are behind 100%."
John Flanagan, CEO, Green Island Interactive.
