(Woking, UK) Vipre, a world leader in the development and implementation of transportation soft measures and a Green Island Interactive client, recently launched Hourbike. Hourbike is an innovative system where members can rent bicycles from a variety of locations throughout the UK. It is unique in that it is fully automated and offers a healthy, green alternative and is ideal for short trips, journeys across town, to and from the train station, inter-campus travel or for pure leisure. It is easy to use and works on the principle of membership. All a member needs is their SMART card and four-digit PIN for access.

Vipre contacted Green Island Interactive to develop a website to promote Hourbike and to provide information to those interested in the service. Green Island worked with the Hourbike team which was lead by Diana Bignell, Marketing Manager. The new website needed to be up and running in time for the Hourbike launch on Tuesday 6th February, 2007.

The first phase of the website offers pre-registration and phase two will provide access to a bike rental finder, online payment through the use of a Smart card and Pin system, account management and more.

Green Island Interactive not only developed the new website but also worked closely with the Hourbike Team to successfully implement the products branding throughout the new website.
